Wholesome Sword & Shield bug

Every Pokemon game begins similarly at home, as trainers living with their mom take off on an adventure to catch every Pokemon, and become the ultimate champion.

However, Twitter user ‘TAHK0‘ posted a bug they ran into when returning home right before starting the final battle with Leon where the protagonist’s mother thought they’d already won.

In the video attached to the tweet, the player goes home just before the match, and upon returning, the mother calls them the Champion, triggering dialogue typically reserved for the post-game.

The post generated hilarious reactions to the bug, with some cracking jokes about how mothers are always proud of their children, regardless of their actual success.

TAHK0 followed up their original post, finding the glitch incredibly wholesome too. “She just believes in me that’s all,” they tweeted. As of the time of this article, the video has over 1.6k views.

While many found humor in the video, it led some players to ponder what “triggers” the mother to think that protagonist is the champion, as it was always assumed that you had to beat Leon. Of course it could just be a one off bug.
