Surprise GTA 5 update: Patch notes, Cayo Perico changes, download sizes
Rockstar Games have released a surprise GTA 5 update on February 10, a day before players usually see new content in GTA Online – so what’s actually included in the patch notes?
The game is over seven years old now, which some might think would make the content inside it quite stale at this point. Well, that’s not really how it’s played out for Rockstar, who routinely add new content to the title’s online experience.
That being said, those GTA Online weekly updates are usually every Thursday, so players were shocked to see one appear a day earlier this week.
So, let’s run through everything we know about this mysterious update and what changes Rockstar has implemented.

On consoles, it’s been reported that this new patch will be 7 GB for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PS5.
However, quite oddly, PC players claim that an update of just 92 MB has appeared on their screens. Quite the difference, which begs the question, are console players receiving more changes to their version of the game?

What’s included? Patch notes
After a lot of speculation, Rockstar has now confirmed exactly what the mysterious update changed in-game:
- Fixed an issue that resulted in spoiler mods not appearing after purchase on Ocelot Pariah
- Fixed an issue that resulted in incorrect button prompts in the Japanese SKU when opening the safe on the Cayo Perico Heist finale
- Miscellaneous stability fixes
All in all, the update hasn’t added anything new or exciting to the game, but it’s great to see Rockstar fixing a lot of the frustrating bugs affecting players.
Luckily, players can look forward to the features added with February 11 weekly update that recently dropped in-game. Rockstar has added a new podium vehicle, exclusive rewards, and a range of limited-time discounts.
Who discovered the update?
The existence of the patch was first discovered by prominent leaker TezFunz2, who tweeted out of nowhere: “New GTA V patch releasing soon.”
It took just five minutes after that tweet for the patch to start appearing on devices.

As for the mysterious patch, it’s great to see Rockstar pushing out updates to improve the overall performance of the game.
However, GTA fans will still be waiting for the next big content update which as of yet, has not been revealed by Rockstar. In the meantime, there’s always Cayo Perico to keep players busy for the time being.
