How to play Apex Legends on mobile with Android smartphones for free

Apex Legends players can now enjoy Season 4: Assimilation on Android mobile devices, thanks to the recent public release of the Nvidia GeForce Now cloud gaming service.

There have been lots of speculation and rumors surrounding the possible release for a mobile version of Apex Legends ever since the game first dropped back in February 2019.

While a mobile release for the battle royale has essentially been confirmed by publishers EA in several of their earnings calls, no timetable has been provided for when it will be made available to the public.

However, with the recent launch of Nvidia’s new GeForce Now game streaming service, Apex Legends is fully compatible with Android phones.

Nvidia currently offers GeForce Now in two versions – free and premium. The free version allows for up to one hour of playtime per session, while the paid ‘Founders’ version, which costs $4.99 a month, gives up for four hours of access.

Keep in mind that this service is currently only available on Android, so those on iOS will either have to wait for GeForce Now to launch on Apple devices or the full mobile game to be released, whichever comes first.

Because this is not the official Apex Legends mobile game but rather just a way to launch the BR on Android smartphones, you will need a Bluetooth controller in order to play.

That shouldn’t be an issue if you already have an Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or Nintendo Switch Pro controller lying around, as those are all Bluetooth compatible. All you need to do is connect a gamepad and you’ll be good to go.

Another important thing to note is that this loads you into PC servers against players who are on computer, putting you at a distinct disadvantage due to the massive technological advantages that a PC offers over mobile devices.

That said, it’s definitely better than not playing the game on mobile at all, so while you may find yourself struggling against the competition at first, the satisfaction of enjoying Apex Legends on-the-go should more than make up for it.
