Has Grookey, Scorbunny and Sobble's evolutions been leaked?

Leaks for the Pokemon Sword and Shield starter Pokemon — Grookey, Scorbunny and Sobble — have been virtually non-existant, until now.

Pokemon games are notorious for having leaks close to the release date but for the most part it appears Pokemon Sword and Shield has avoided this.

There has been one prominent leak that revealed what are now confirmed details but the starter Pokemon weren’t among them. If you want to enjoy the game spoiler free we suggest proceeding with caution.

The Pokemon Company have remained extra tight-lipped about the starters and wouldn’t even be drawn on questions about them in recent sit down interviews. It appears they are trying to keep their evolutions as surprise for when players finally get their hands on a copy.

Those plans may now have been scuppered, at least for Grookey and Sobble, as their first evolutions have been suppoesedly revealed. How they surfaced is unclear but it appears that somebody has obtained an early copy of Pokemon Sword and Shield and released images of the game.

As with all leaks it’s difficult to gauge just how legitimate they are. However, these evolutions pass the initial eye test and align with previous rumors about the types of Pokemon they become.

We can see Grookey maintains its gorilla theme and that its stick becomes more prominent in its evolved form. Another rumor that has been swirling around the Pokemon community is that Sobble ends up being some sort of spy-themed chameleon. These leaks look authentic but we’ll have to wait and see whether they’re real.

Grookey and Sobble’s final evolved forms have also supposedly leaked. Grookey’s final evolved form is called Rillaboom and Sobble’s Intelleon. Interestingly, none of those evolutions are any of the ones that were previously “leaked”.

Scorbunny isn't out. OP picked Grookey and rival picked Sobble, so he can't see bunny (yet). There are lots of other leaks,! pic.twitter.com/zvT7c6h2yW

Update: Scorbunny’s evolved forms have also been revealed. Its first evolved form is called Raboot and its final Cindarace. It had been rumored that Scorbunny would end up a humanoid and/or soccer player but it appears neither of these were true.

Meanwhile, there are still a few unconfirmed leaks for Pokemon Sword and Shield including what the post-game will entail.

More leaks will likely materialize as the 2019 Pokemon game’s release date of November 15 approaches.
