Fortnite’s Galactus Nexus War finale event is finally over and it was packed full of a ton of Marvel-themed content. Here’s what went down during the insanely hyped event that closed off Season 4 of the popular game.
For a while now, Epic Games, Marvel, and the Fortnite community have been hyping up a brand new event to close out Chapter 2, Season 4 of Fortnite. Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds, had been slowly inching his way towards the island all season and on December 1, 2020, he finally arrived.
But what happened once he finally showed up to the Fortnite island? Did players have to fight him like we originally thought? Here’s what you need to know about what went down during the Nexus War finale event in case you missed it.
Fortnite Galactus Nexus War finale event recap
Galactus wasted no time in destroying the Helicarrier at the start of the event. All in all, the event itself was pretty short, clocking in at a little over 10 minutes when all was said and done. Still, there was a ton that happened during that span.
Once the in-game timer reached zero, the giant Galactus made his final push to the island. After declaring that he hungered, he destroyed the Helicarrier starting location with ease, sending you and all the other players flying across the sky.

Fortunately, Iron Man-himself flew in as you got close to hitting the ground, handing you a jetpack and telling you that it’s time to stop Galactus. Before you had a chance to do anything, however, the massive villain started consuming Zero Point, which started a “full reality collapse”.
After being transported by Iron Man, you reappeared, in first-person, inside of a Battle Bus decked out in weaponry and explosives. From that point on, your goal was to fly the Buses into Galactus and have him consume them, which ultimately sent him back to “where he came from.”
In order to defeat Galactus, players had to drive Battle Buses decked out in weaponry and explosives towards the villain so that he would consume it.A few Marvel characters even made small appearances, including Thor himself (who was one of the main characters this season) and even Wolverine, who helped you in the fight against Galactus.
After finally destroying a plethora of drones and getting close enough, Galactus got sent back to where he came from, you were teleported away to safety, and the event ended.
Players were joined by both Thor and Wolverine during the event, who helped in taking down Galactus.Of course, it wouldn’t be Marvel if there wasn’t a “post-credits scene.” After the event was over and Galactus got taken care of, players got a shot of Jonesy in his office, who wakes up suddenly before the screen says that the story is to be continued in Season 5.
Re-watch the entire Fortnite Galactus event
Unfortunately, if you were hoping to catch a re-run of the event inside of Fortnite itself, it seems like that’s not going to be possible. Epic Games has confirmed that it was a “one-time-only” event so if you missed out, you won’t be able to experience it again in-game.

However, we did record the entire experience, so can rewatch it as many times as you want:
