Dr Disrespect gives grave prediction for Fortnite Chapter 2's future

Fortnite Chapter 2 might well have burst onto the scene with a whole load of optimism on October 15, but Dr Disrespect can’t help but feel like something really terrible is just around the corner for the battle royale game.

Epic Games have really pushed the boat out with the latest major update to their free-to-play title, introducing a fresh map, a whole load of water interaction methods, new weapons and more exciting features that sections of the fanbase have been waiting to see for quite some time.

However, even with the game surging in popularity – as over 21 million people tuned into their Twitter broadcast on the day the new chapter was launched – one of the biggest names on Twitch, Dr Disrespect, has made a grave prediction about its future.

EPIC GAMESFortnite Chapter 2 has introduced a whole host of new locations for players to explore.[ad name=”article2″]

The streamer is known for his violence, speed and momentum during broadcasts, but has never been one to hold back his views on different titles that he’s not overly impressed with – and it’s no different with Fortnite. He’s excited by the future, but not the future of this game.

“I just have a feeling that this game isn’t going to last much longer man. This is terrible,” he said during a broadcast on October 15. “I’m happy. Reason why I’m happy, these demonic kids will turn back normal. Developers… The red glare over their eyes looking into a flame of hell – that will decipitate and we’ll start getting back to developing high end shooter games.”

The Doc has a number of different games that he likes to try out for his patented Triple Threat Challenge on stream, where he tasks himself with getting a win in solos on three different battle royale games in a single streaming session.

Despite the return of Fortnite to the series following the release of Chapter 2, it seems that Epic haven’t done enough to convince the self-proclaimed best video gamer in the world that it’s moving in the right direction.

He added: “The game is going to die. It is, trust me. It’s already been dying, I don’t know if you saw the numbers towards the end of Fortnite Season 1. This is not enough to revive it to the glory days, if you will. I mean, it’s literally on its way down. Trust me.”

This isn’t the first time that the Two-Time has made a grave prediction about Fortnite and it likely won’t be his last, but whether what he’s saying will turn out to be accurate in the future remains to be seen.

We’ll just have to wait and see.
