In a video that has accrued over 8.4 million views in four days, Carrigan claimed that McBroom, best known from the Ace Family YouTube channel, had raped a friend of his, as well as a second unidentified woman.

He also showed messages between himself and drama YouTuber Daniel ‘KEEMSTAR‘ Keem, in which Keem suggested he had been paid $500,000 not to cover the rape allegations, but has since claimed this was sarcasm.

In response, McBroom revealed that he had hired a senior prosecutor to pursue charges of extortion against Carrigan. He also shared a screenshot which allegedly showed Carrigan claiming that he aimed to ‘scare the Ace Family’ into paying him $100,000 to not publicize the accusations.

Initially, the beauty YouTuber did not respond publicly, but on October 16, stating “I’m not getting sued for “extortion” but Austin McBroom and his team will be arrested for sexual assault.”

He continued, “my intentions were wrong in the beginning but I realized what was more important and THAT is why my video was uploaded with factual evidence. No amount of (money) was EVER involved.”

In a follow-up tweet, he suggests that McBroom is claiming to be a victim of extortion because “he’s scared.”

“If Austin was really a “victim” of “extortion” why post 3 different statements about how you’re getting your lawyers involved?” Carrigan asked. “If you were really a victim there would be no case to fight?”

Since McBroom’s statement on October 15, outlining his intention to take legal action, he hasn’t spoken on the allegations on Twitter, but did address them briefly in the Ace Family’s October 16 vlog.

Wife Catherine Paiz explains, “It’s been a rough past couple of days, but we’ve been getting through it, and I just want to say thank you to everyone who has been there for us. We just want to go back to doing what we love to do.”

KEEMSTAR has also weighed in on the issue frequently, due to his own involvement in covering the case, labeling Carrigan a “clown”.

Keem also pointed out that Carrigan may be confused about the extortion allegation, because he says he is not being “sued for extortion”, but extortion is a criminal action, not civil.
