Apex Legends System Override event: Trailer, Deja Loot mode & more
Respawn Entertainment have revealed a brand new System Override collection event for Apex Legends, which will add a whole host of new features to the game for a limited time.
With the game’s next event set to take place between March 3 and March 17, EA have released a promotional trailer to show fans what to expect in the future update.
The popular battle royale game was given a huge reset on February 4 with the release of Season 4: Assimilation and while there was a ton of new content to enjoy back then, it appears that the game’s developers are only just getting started for this season.

Recent limited time events have brought back the original Kings Canyon map, introduced Solos and Duos, and some of that will feature this time around – but not all. In their place comes a fresh game mode called Deja Loot, an Evo Shield item, some limited edition Assimilation Apex packs and an amazing Heirloom set for Octane.
As seen in the trailer below, which was revealed by Respawn on February 27, thing are going to be given yet another shakeup very soon. More details can be found below for each element of the event.

Apex Legends Season 4: System Override – What’s coming?
Deja Loot mode
With a new event in the works and soon to come to World’s Edge, there are a few new details that are worth noting. The first, of course, being the upcoming new ‘Deja Loot mode’.
The official description for it is as follows: “Due to a system glitch, this limited-time mode will feature the same flight path for the dropship and all loot will respawn at the same location throughout the System Override Collection.
We’re turning back the clock and Kings Canyon is coming back (again).“The Ring location will change on a daily basis. The first week of Deja Loot mode will take place on World’s Edge; the second week will see Legends return to Kings Canyon.”
It’s unclear as to which version of Kings Canyon will be included in the mode just yet, but the most recent inclusion of the original map was the Season 1 version.

Evo Shield
Evo Body shields are being added as part of the System Override event, but based on the trailer many fans are going to be hoping Respawn keep them around for much longer than that.
These new shields will get stronger, once equipped, the more damage a legend inflicts while wearing one. This means that those who have one equipped will benefit from engaging with enemies and taking gunfights. They can also become stronger than Epic body shields, as a result, and will have a “distinctive glow” so that players can recognize them.
Assimilation Themed Apex Packs
New Apex Legends packs are coming soon.[ad name="article4"]
Apex Legends players will have opened numerous packs by now, but during this event there will be limited edition Assimilation themed packs made available as well. These can be purchased with Apex Coins, unlocked with Crafting Materials or will randomly unlock with the Event Apex Packs.

Inside, players could unlock a “set of 24 themed, limited-time cosmetics, in addition to 6 matching legendary character and weapon skins, and 12 other epics,” according to an official statement.
Octane Heirloom set
As a reward, those who unlock all of the 24 System Override cosmetics, made available by this upcoming update, will be granted a brand new Octane Heirloom set. Regular players will be aware that Heirlooms are the rarest in the game, so if you want to claim this new one, get to work!
The premier item of this set is a butterfly knife, similar to the ones popularized in CS:GO. You can get a close look at Octane’s Heirloom knife in-game here.

In addition to Octane’s new set, Respawn also announced that a major change to Heirlooms was coming soon in the form of Shards:
“We’re changing up the Heirloom system to make it easier for you to acquire the heirloom you want. Instead of an entire Heirloom set dropping at once, you’ll now receive Heirloom shards. You can then use those shards to pick the exact Heirloom set you’d like. The shards will have the same drop rate as the previous system so that after 500 Apex Packs, you will have enough Heirloom Shards to obtain an Heirloom set from the Heirloom shop. And don’t worry, your existing progress towards the 500 Apex Packs will carry over with the switch. Remember that once a player owns all of the Heirloom sets, the player will not be eligible to receive more shards until more Heirloom Sets are added to the game.”

So, there we have it! Those are all of the details we have so far for the upcoming Apex Legends Season 4 limited time event. Once we know more, we’ll be the first to let you know, but this isn’t a bad start by our estimations.
